A traveller watching a jet climb from the departure lounge — Heathrow arrivals: where your driver meets you, terminal by terminal — P5 Chauffeurs journal

Heathrow is four terminals, two runways and some of the longest walks in Europe. The part you care about is short: what happens between the aircraft door and the back seat of the car. Here is exactly that, terminal by terminal.

What happens after you land

We book your pickup against your flight number, not a clock time. If the flight lands early or late, the pickup moves with it and the price does not change.

From the aircraft door to the carSix stages: landing, passport control, baggage reclaim, customs, the arrivals hall where your driver waits with a name board, and a short walk to the car.LandingFlight trackedPassport controlBaggage reclaimCustomsArrivals hallYour driver waitsThe carShort walkThe gold dashed stretch is ours: from the moment you clear customs, you are with your driver.
Every Heathrow terminal works the same way: passport control, reclaim, customs, then one arrivals hall where your driver waits.

Passport control and baggage reclaim are the parts that vary. On a quiet evening you can be through in twenty minutes; when several long-haul flights land together it takes much longer. You do not need to rush or call to say you are waiting for bags — the complimentary waiting time starts when you land, not when we expected you.

Which terminal, and why it matters

Your ticket tells you the terminal, and we confirm it from your flight on the day. It matters because the terminals are genuinely apart: Terminal 4 is on the south side of the airport and Terminal 5 at the western end, while Terminals 2 and 3 share the central area.

Heathrow terminals, not to scaleTwo east–west runways. Terminals 2 and 3 sit together in the central area between them, Terminal 5 at the western end, and Terminal 4 on its own south of the southern runway. The M25 runs along the western edge and the M4 and A4 to central London leave from the north-east.Northern runwaySouthern runwayM25To central London (M4)Terminals 2 & 3Central areaTerminal 5Western endTerminal 4South sidefree train between terminals
Not to scale. The free trains between terminals are fine with hand luggage; with a trolley of cases, being met at the right hall saves a real detour.

Terminal 2, the Queen’s Terminal

Home to the Star Alliance airlines — United, Lufthansa, Swiss, Air Canada, Singapore Airlines and others. Your driver waits in the arrivals hall at the exit from customs, holding a board with your name.

Terminal 3

Long-haul heavy: Virgin Atlantic, Delta, Emirates and most oneworld airlines such as American, Cathay Pacific and Qantas. Several big aircraft often land together, so the hall can be busy — look for your name on the board as you come out of customs.

Terminal 4

The SkyTeam airlines and several Gulf carriers, on the south side of the airport with its own road. If your ticket says Terminal 4, that is where we meet you; it is not a walk from the others.

Terminal 5

British Airways and Iberia. Whichever satellite your gate is in, everyone comes out into the same single arrivals hall, so there is one meeting point. From Terminal 5 to central London starts at £74 in a Saloon.

Airlines move between terminals from time to time, so treat these as a guide and your ticket as the answer.

If you can’t see your driver

  1. Stay inside the arrivals hall. Your driver is waiting inside, not at the kerb or in a car park — walking out is the most common way to miss each other.
  2. Check your phone. Your driver’s details and the meeting point are on your confirmation, and we message on the day.
  3. Call us. The office is open 24 hours on 020 8742 2888 and can reach your driver straight away.

These prices come straight from the same engine that prices your booking, so they change only when our rates do.

Going the other way: departures

For a departure we drive you to the forecourt of your terminal. Heathrow charges £7 every time a car enters a terminal drop-off zone; in your fixed price that is part of the £7–£12 airport fee, so there is nothing to pay at the barrier. If you would like help with the cases to check-in, ask when you book.

Questions, answered.

Where exactly will my driver be at Heathrow?

Inside the arrivals hall of your terminal, at the exit from customs, holding a board with your name. The meeting point is confirmed on your booking.

What if my flight lands early or late?

We track the flight and move the pickup to the real landing time. The price stays the same.

How much is a chauffeur from Heathrow to central London?

A Saloon starts at £65 at an ordinary time, with the airport fee included. Rush hour, nights and bank holidays cost more, and your quote shows the exact price before you book.

Do you charge for waiting while I collect my bags?

No. Complimentary waiting starts when you land, so a slow passport queue or a late bag does not cost you anything extra.
