Heathrow Terminal 2 Chauffeur Transfers: The Star Alliance Hub Explained

An aircraft wing over golden evening cloud — Heathrow Terminal 2 Chauffeur Transfers: The Star Alliance Hub Explained — P5 Chauffeurs journal

Terminal 2, officially The Queen's Terminal, opened in 2014 as Heathrow's newest building and now serves as the primary home for Star Alliance carriers — United, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Singapore Airlines, and around two dozen others operate out of it. It sits between Terminals 3 and 5, close enough that the access roads can get confused with a driver who doesn't do this run regularly.

Unlike T5's self-contained layout, T2 shares some approach roads with the wider Heathrow central area, and its drop-off can feel busier relative to its size because it consolidates so many airlines under one roof rather than spreading them across a terminal built for a single carrier.

Why the Airline Mix Matters for Timing

With that many carriers under one roof, check-in desk locations and self-service kiosk availability vary more than at a single-airline terminal. A United long-haul departure and a Lufthansa short-haul departure from the same building can have meaningfully different queue patterns depending on the time of day. We factor in the specific airline, not just the terminal, when setting your pickup time.

Connecting Through Terminal 2

Because so many Star Alliance routes connect through Heathrow onward to long-haul destinations, T2 sees a higher proportion of connecting passengers than some other terminals. If you're being dropped for a connection rather than a final departure, let us know — it doesn't change the drop-off point but it does mean we'll build in less buffer since you're not clearing check-in from scratch.

What It Costs

A transfer between central London and Heathrow Terminal 2 typically runs £55-£85 in an executive saloon, the same fixed-price structure as our other Heathrow terminal transfers. Call 020 8129 4999 for a quote against your flight.

Questions, answered.

Which airlines fly from Heathrow Terminal 2?

T2 is the main Star Alliance hub at Heathrow, hosting United, Lufthansa, Air Canada, Singapore Airlines, ANA, and around two dozen other Star Alliance members and partners.

Is Terminal 2 far from Terminal 5?

They're on the same airport site but with separate access roads and set-down points — not a walkable distance, and drivers need to know the correct approach for each rather than treating Heathrow as one undifferentiated site.

Do you adjust pickup times for connecting passengers at T2?

Yes — if you're arriving into T2 to connect onward rather than starting your journey there, tell us when booking and we'll set expectations around gate walk times rather than full check-in buffers.
