Flight Delays and Your Chauffeur: How We Handle It

Sunset over the wing from a cabin window on approach — Flight Delays and Your Chauffeur: How We Handle It — P5 Chauffeurs journal

Flight delays are one of the few parts of travel genuinely out of anyone's control, and how a transfer company handles them tells you a lot about whether they're built around the passenger or around the driver's schedule. Here's exactly what happens when your flight runs late with us.

Every arrivals pickup is linked to your actual flight number, not a fixed clock time. We track it against live aviation data, so if your flight is delayed by twenty minutes or two hours, your driver's arrival shifts automatically — you don't need to call and tell us, and you won't be charged for the airline's delay.

Free Waiting Time

We build a reasonable amount of free waiting time into every arrivals booking, covering the normal variance between wheels-down and walking out through arrivals — immigration queues, baggage reclaim, customs. For a heavily delayed flight, we simply adjust the driver's arrival to match rather than leaving a car parked and waiting from the original scheduled time.

What Happens With a Cancelled or Rebooked Flight

If a flight is cancelled outright and you're rebooked onto a later one, let us know the new flight number as soon as you have it and we'll move your booking to match, at no extra cost for a same-day change. This is one of the clearest advantages of fixed-price, pre-booked chauffeur transfers over hailing a taxi on arrival — you're not competing with everyone else from a delayed flight for the same rank of cabs.

What It Costs

Flight tracking and reasonable waiting time are built into every fixed price we quote — typically £35-£120 depending on airport and distance — with no surge pricing applied for delays, regardless of how late the flight lands. Call 020 8129 4999 to book or to update a flight already booked.

Questions, answered.

Will I be charged more if my flight is delayed?

No — the fixed price agreed at booking stays the same regardless of delays, and we don't apply surge pricing for late-running flights the way some ride-hailing apps do.

Do I need to tell you if my flight is delayed?

Not necessary — we track your flight number automatically and adjust the pickup time, though you're always welcome to call 020 8129 4999 if you want to confirm.

What if my flight is cancelled and I'm rebooked for the next day?

Let us know the new flight details as soon as you have them and we'll move the booking to match — for overnight changes we'll confirm any adjustment to the fare in advance, though most same-day changes carry none.
