Our Car Seat and Booster Seat Policy for Chauffeur Journeys

UK law is specific about child car seats, and that doesn't change because you're in a chauffeur car instead of your own — children under 12 or under 135cm generally need an appropriate car seat or booster, and it's not something we can improvise on the day.

We can provide infant seats, toddler seats, and booster seats on request, but they need to be requested at the time of booking, not mentioned to the driver when they arrive. Seats have to be fitted correctly and matched to the child's age and weight, so we plan for it rather than keeping a random assortment in the boot.

What to Tell Us When Booking

Let us know the number of children travelling, their approximate ages or weights, and how many seats you need. If you'd prefer to bring and fit your own seat, that's fine too — just tell us so the driver expects it and allows a few extra minutes at pickup for fitting.

Why We Ask in Advance

Getting the seat category wrong — a booster for a child who still needs a harnessed seat, for instance — isn't just inconvenient, it's a genuine safety issue, so we'd rather ask a couple of questions upfront than guess. It also means the right seat is already in the car when you arrive, instead of a delay while someone sources one.

Booking With Children

There's no extra charge for standard seat provision on most bookings, though it's worth mentioning at the time so it's factored into vehicle selection — a V-Class gives more room to fit multiple seats and adult passengers comfortably than a saloon. Airport and school-run transfers with car seats typically fall in the same £45-£90 range as a standard transfer.
