Heathrow terminals: which one you need, and how you’re met

Heathrow is really four airports in a trench, and the terminal on your ticket decides where you’re met, how far you walk, and whether a wrong turn costs you twenty minutes. Here is the plain version.

Which terminal, and why it matters

Terminal 5 is British Airways and Iberia’s home; Terminal 2, “The Queen’s Terminal”, is the Star Alliance base; Terminal 3 handles Virgin Atlantic, Emirates and the oneworld carriers; Terminal 4 is the SkyTeam terminal on the south side. Allocations shift occasionally, so your ticket is the authority — but those anchors are stable.

The catch is geography. T2 and T3 sit together in the Central Terminal Area, a covered walk apart. T4 is on the south side, and T5 to the west — both a shuttle or a separate road journey from the others. Arrive at the wrong terminal to be collected and you’ve added a real detour; being met at the correct arrivals hall is the whole point.

How a chauffeur meets you at Heathrow

We take your flight number, map it to the operating terminal, and the driver waits in that terminal’s arrivals hall with a name board past baggage reclaim. The flight is tracked from take-off, so a delay moves the pickup automatically, with an hour of complimentary waiting to cover a slow carousel or a long immigration queue.

For departures, Heathrow charges £7 every time a car enters a terminal drop-off zone — or we can meet you inside and carry the bags to check-in, so leaving is as unhurried as arriving.

Each terminal has its own page

For the specific arrivals hall meeting point, the airlines, the accessibility detail and drop-off guidance, use the individual terminal pages below. Each is written around that terminal alone; this guide is the map that ties them together.

How do I know which Heathrow terminal I need?

Your ticket or booking confirmation states the terminal. As a guide: T5 is BA and Iberia, T2 is Star Alliance, T3 is Virgin/Emirates/oneworld, T4 is SkyTeam — but always check, as allocations can change.

How far apart are Heathrow’s terminals?

T2 and T3 are a covered walk apart in the Central Terminal Area; T4 (south) and T5 (west) are each a shuttle or separate road journey away. Being met at the right one avoids a real detour.

What if my terminal changes at the last minute?

We track the flight, so a reassignment simply moves the meeting point — there’s nothing for you to do.

Where does the driver wait at Heathrow?

In the arrivals hall of your terminal, past baggage reclaim, with a name board. The exact point is confirmed with your booking.

Is there a drop-off charge at Heathrow?

Yes — £7 every time a car enters a terminal drop-off zone. For departures we can meet you inside and take the bags to check-in instead.

Are Heathrow terminals accessible?

All are step-free with assistance available; T5 is among the most accessible terminals in Europe. Tell us your requirements and the driver meets you accordingly.
