Travelling With Pets: Our Chauffeur Pet Policy
Taking your dog to the vet, the countryside, or the airport? Here's how pet-friendly chauffeur bookings work, what to bring, and what to tell us in advance.

A dog in the back of a black cab is a bit of a gamble — some drivers wave you off, others won't take pets at all, and you find out which one you've got right there on the kerb. We'd rather you knew in advance, so pet travel is something you arrange at booking, not something you negotiate on the day.
We're happy to carry well-behaved pets, most commonly dogs travelling to vet appointments, on longer countryside trips, or occasionally to the airport for onward pet travel. Tell us at booking that a pet is coming along and roughly its size, so we can allocate a vehicle with enough space and, where useful, protective covers for the seats.
What to Bring
A secured carrier for smaller animals, or a harness and lead for a dog riding loose in the back, along with something to line the seat if your pet sheds or is prone to travel sickness. We can supply a protective seat cover on request, but bringing your own blanket is always a good backup.
Longer Trips
For countryside days out or longer journeys where your dog will be in the car for an hour or more, mention that at booking too — the driver can plan in a stop if needed, and we can put you in a V-Class with more floor space rather than a saloon boot.
What It Costs
Pet travel doesn't carry a standard surcharge for routine trips, though we may ask for a small valeting contribution on longer journeys with larger dogs, agreed with you upfront — never added afterwards. A local trip with a pet is priced like any other journey, from the £47 Saloon minimum. Call 020 8742 2888 to book and mention your pet when you do — it takes thirty seconds and means the right car turns up.
Questions, answered.
Do I need to book a specific vehicle for a large dog?
Not necessarily, but tell us the size and breed — for a large dog we'll usually suggest a V-Class for the extra space rather than a saloon.
Is there an extra charge for bringing a pet?
Routine short trips carry no standard surcharge. For longer trips with larger animals we may agree a small valeting contribution in advance, never sprung on you after the fact.
Can my dog travel loose in the car, or does it need a carrier?
A harness and lead is fine for a calm dog riding loose in the back or boot area of a V-Class. Smaller or more anxious pets are usually more comfortable in a secured carrier.
