How Far Ahead Should You Book a Chauffeur?
There's no single right answer to how far ahead to book — a same-day airport run and a wedding car booking sit at completely different ends of the planning spectrum, and treating them the same way leads to either unnecessary stress or a missed slot on a busy date.
The general rule: the more vehicles involved, the more fixed the date, and the more in-demand the day, the further ahead you should book. A single saloon for a Tuesday afternoon transfer has far more flexibility than four cars for a Saturday wedding in June.
Same-Day and Next-Day Bookings
We can often accommodate same-day bookings for standard transfers, subject to vehicle availability at the time — call rather than relying on an online form for anything urgent, since a phone call lets us confirm availability immediately. It's not guaranteed, but it's genuinely possible more often than people assume.
Airport Transfers and Regular Journeys
A day or two ahead is comfortable for most airport transfers and gives us room to plan around your flight time properly. If you know your travel dates weeks in advance, booking early doesn't cost you anything extra — the fixed price is the fixed price regardless of when you book, so there's no downside to booking early other than needing to firm up your flight details.
Weddings and Events
For weddings, we'd recommend booking two to six months ahead, particularly for popular dates in spring and summer — Saturdays in June through September fill up well in advance, and multi-vehicle bookings need more lead time regardless of season. Corporate events with several cars follow similar logic; the more vehicles and the tighter the schedule, the earlier you should lock it in.
If You're Not Sure
When in doubt, call and ask rather than assuming it's too late or too early — we'd rather tell you honestly whether your date is tight than have you not book at all. Prices don't change based on how far ahead you book; a standard transfer runs roughly £40-£90 whether it's booked six months or six hours out. Call 020 8129 4999 and we'll tell you straightaway what's realistic for your date.
Questions, answered.
Can I book a chauffeur for later today?
Often yes, subject to availability — call us directly rather than using an online form, since a phone call lets us confirm a car right away.
How far ahead should I book for a wedding?
Two to six months is a sensible range, and earlier still for a popular Saturday in peak wedding season, particularly if you need more than one vehicle.
Does booking early get me a better price?
No, and it doesn't get you a worse one either — the fixed price is based on the route and vehicle, not how far ahead you book, so there's no financial reason to wait.
