Heathrow to Central London: Chauffeur Cost and Options
How long Heathrow to central London takes, what a chauffeur really costs (with a real quote), and how it compares with the train and taxis.

Heathrow is about 15 miles from central London, and the journey usually takes 45 to 70 minutes by road depending on the time of day and where you are going. Here is how a pre-booked chauffeur compares with the other ways in.
The right choice depends on your luggage, your group size and how much you value a door-to-door journey. This is how we see the main options.
By chauffeur
A chauffeur meets you in arrivals with a name board, helps with your bags and takes you to the exact address. The fare is fixed when you book, flight tracking is included and the first 60 minutes of waiting after you land are free. As a real example, Terminal 5 to Trafalgar Square on a weekday at 11:00 was £111 in a Saloon, £150 in an Executive, £146 in an MPV (up to 5 passengers) and £158 in a Van (up to 8), including the £12 airport fee and the £15 Congestion Charge. See Heathrow transfers.
By Elizabeth line or Heathrow Express
Trains are fast between the airport and Paddington (Heathrow Express) or central stations (Elizabeth line), and they avoid road traffic. You then need to carry bags to the platform and take a taxi or the Tube for the last part of your journey. Trains suit a light traveller going to a station-adjacent destination. See our guide on Elizabeth line vs chauffeur from Heathrow.
By taxi or app
Metered taxis and ride-hailing apps can be quick to find, but the final fare depends on traffic and time, and app prices can rise at busy times. A pre-booked chauffeur gives you a price in advance and a driver waiting for you.
Which should you choose?
Choose a chauffeur if you are arriving late, tired, in a group, with children or with a lot of luggage, or if you want certainty on cost and timing. Choose the train if you are travelling light to a spot near a station. Arrivals from Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5 are all covered, with a meeting point briefed for your terminal.
