A Chauffeur for Your Wedding Day in London

A stone country house above clipped lawns and hedges — A Chauffeur for Your Wedding Day in London — P5 Chauffeurs journal

A wedding day runs on a schedule that cannot slip - the venue, the registrar, the photographer and a hundred guests are all fixed points. A chauffeur exists to protect that schedule, not just to look good in photographs.

Most couples we work with book two cars: one for the bride or groom arriving, and a second, quieter run for parents or the wedding party so nobody is stood on a pavement waiting for a lift. Both are quoted as a single fixed price, confirmed before the day, so there is nothing to negotiate when everyone is already stressed enough.

Timing a Wedding Booking

We build in generous buffer time around a wedding booking - extra minutes at the getting-ready address, at the ceremony, and between ceremony and reception if they're at different venues. If a service overruns, which they often do, the car and driver simply wait; that time is built into the price from the outset, not billed as an extra.

For the getaway from the reception, many couples book a second, later pickup rather than keeping one car on standby all evening - it's usually cheaper and means the driver isn't idling in a car park for six hours.

Choosing the Car

A Mercedes E-Class or S-Class in black or a dark colour is the most requested pairing for wedding photography - traditional without looking like a hire car. For a larger wedding party travelling together, our Mercedes V-Class seats up to eight in one vehicle, which keeps a group of bridesmaids or groomsmen together instead of splitting across several taxis.

Ribbons are fine - just let us know in advance so the driver can fit them before arrival rather than in a layby outside the venue.

What It Costs

A half-day wedding booking (roughly four hours, covering the main arrival and any local photography stops) typically runs from around £220-£320 in an executive saloon, more for an S-Class or V-Class. Call 020 8129 4999 with your venues and rough timings and we'll confirm an exact fixed price the same day.

Questions, answered.

Can we book two cars for one wedding?

Yes - most weddings we cover use two bookings, one for the principal arrival and a second for family or the wedding party. Each is quoted and confirmed separately so timings can be tailored to each group.

What happens if the ceremony overruns?

The driver waits. Wedding bookings are quoted with built-in buffer time precisely because ceremonies and photographs rarely run to the minute - you won't be charged extra for a normal overrun.

Do you decorate the car with ribbons or flowers?

We're happy to fit ribbons supplied by you - just tell us in advance so the driver has them ready before arriving, rather than fitting them at the kerb.
