Do the clocks changing affect my booking?
The UK moves its clocks forward one hour at 1am on the last Sunday of March, and back one hour at 2am on the last Sunday of October. Almost every journey is unaffected. The ones to watch are pickups in the small hours of that Sunday.
What to do
- Write the full date and a 24-hour time for any pickup between midnight and around 3am, such as “Sunday 25 October, 01:30”.
- In October, the hour between 1am and 2am happens twice. Say whether you mean the first or the second 1:30, or avoid a time in that hour.
- In March, an hour is skipped, so a time from 1am to 2am does not exist that night. Choose one either side.
- If you are booking from overseas, state that the time is UK local time.
Check the pickup time in your confirmation. If it does not match what you expected, tell us at once. See also which date and time to use for a UK pickup.
