Can I travel with a wheelchair, a walker or other mobility equipment?
Do not book a standard car on the assumption that it suits your needs. Our accessible transfers page explains how we plan these journeys with you.
What we need to know
- The folded dimensions of a wheelchair or walker, and how many bags and passengers travel with it.
- Whether you can move into a passenger seat, or need to stay seated in a wheelchair.
- Any help you need getting in and out at either end.
What to check before you rely on it
Lifting, a ramp or wheelchair restraint equipment are not assumed. Ask the team to confirm exactly what will be provided, and keep that confirmation. If a suitable vehicle or assistance cannot be provided, we would rather tell you before you travel than on the kerb.
Our accessibility statement describes how we approach this more widely.
