Chauffeur Transfers to The Savoy on the Strand
The Savoy sits on its own private forecourt just off the Strand, one of the few central London hotels where a car can pull right up to the door instead of double-parking on a red route. We regularly take guests in and out of there, and the forecourt is exactly why a booked chauffeur beats trying to flag something down on the Strand itself.
The entrance is set back from the road on Savoy Court, which is also, oddly, the one stretch of road in Britain where traffic legally drives on the right — a quirk from the theatre next door that catches out drivers who don't already know it. Our chauffeurs do, and they'll bring the car straight to the steps rather than leaving you to walk in from a lay-by on the Strand.
Getting There for Check-In
Traffic on the Strand and around Aldwych can back up hard around 5-7pm on weekdays, and again on show nights when Covent Garden empties out. If you're arriving for a set check-in time, tell us and we'll build the buffer in — leaving from Heathrow or an evening arrival off Eurostar are the two we get asked about most.
Luggage and Waiting
The forecourt has room for the car to sit briefly while bags come out, but it's not a place to linger — the hotel keeps it moving. Our drivers handle bags to the door themselves, so you're not standing on Savoy Court juggling suitcases while looking for a doorman.
What It Costs
A transfer between The Savoy and Heathrow runs around £75-£95 in an executive saloon, more for an S-Class or a V-Class for extra passengers and bags. Central London transfers to or from The Savoy — a restaurant, another hotel, the theatre — typically sit at £35-£55. Call 020 8129 4999 and we'll confirm the fixed price before you travel, with no meter and no surge pricing regardless of when you're picked up.
Questions, answered.
Can the car actually pull up at The Savoy's front door?
Yes — the hotel has its own forecourt on Savoy Court just off the Strand, so we pull right up rather than parking on the main road.
Is there anything unusual about driving into The Savoy?
Savoy Court is the one road in the UK where traffic keeps to the right, a historic quirk tied to the theatre next door. Our chauffeurs know it well, so it's a non-issue for you.
How early should I book a pickup from The Savoy for a flight?
For Heathrow we suggest booking pickup 3 hours before an international departure, factoring in Strand and Aldwych traffic, which we build into the timing when you tell us your flight.
